Beautiful Horse by Rick Alan Rice published on 2019-10-18T19:16:54Z Just in time for Halloween. I have been on an unconscious roll with holiday-themed originals, starting with "Christmas - It's Heavy" last year. It has all been accidental, but I also did "Box of Hearts" around Valentines day, so now if I come up with a Thanksgiving tune I'll have an un-planned Holiday EP! "Beautiful Horse" is journey through the Valley of Death, and an interesting exercise as a recording project. I wrote the drum part first, then recorded the baseline, and added guitar lines, and Hammond dirt, and vocals, all sort of done backwards from the usual. That may add to the Halloween tone of the piece, which appeals to my inner cowboy.
