Roger comments on his evergreen classic, Breakfast in America - "It's consistently one of the most popular songs in the set and it just seems to ignite a wave of joy in the audience when they hear the first chords. Never could I have imagined when I wrote this song at age 19 that it would be gaining in popularity, if that is even possible, over 40 years later. It's the playful, fun, jubilant quality that people love to hear and sing along to." ~ Roger Hodgson
Roger Hodgson’s latest release, Classics Live, is a spectacular collection of live performances from his solo, band and orchestra shows around the world recorded on his 2010 World Tour. Roger, co-founder of Supertramp, is the singer/songwriter of the band's greatest hits to include Dreamer, Give a Little Bit, Breakfast in America, The Logical Song, Take the Long Way Home, Fool's Overture, It's Raining Again, Hide in Your Shell, and so very many more.
Roger Hodgson’s trademark way of setting beautiful introspective lyrics to upbeat melodies resonated and found its way into the hearts and minds of people from cultures around the globe. He is the Voice you have been listening to on almost all the classic hit songs that were recorded by Supertramp, the Voice people all over the world love.
Roger began writing songs at the age of 12 and performed his first concert of original songs at the age of 13. He later recorded some of his songs with Supertramp and many of them have become the soundtrack of our lives. Although Roger and Supertramp’s other co-founder, Rick Davies, shared writing credit, they actually wrote and composed separately with each singing their own songs. Every song Roger performs in concert was written and composed by him.

Classics Live Review
For most of my life, I've loudly and proudly identified myself as a Supertramp fan. All these years later, I listen with awe to the altogether stunning new Classics Live album only to discover that I am, in fact, first and foremost, a major Roger Hodgson fan. His is the voice that spoke to me as a young man, and speaks to me even more powerfully all these years later. An utterly inspired collection of live performances of the best-loved songs that Roger Hodgson has written and sung to date, Classics Live reminds us in the most vivid way who brought the world such beloved rock standards as "Give A Little Bit," "Take The Long Way Home," "The Logical Song" and "Dreamer," and why these shining songs endure as deeply personal yet somehow universal expression of longing, love and our endless search for human connection. Roger Hodgson may have taken the long way home, but with Classics Live he's back and he has never sounded better.

“I had heard Supertramp on the radio, who knows how many times, growing up.Then one day the tune from Logical popped into my head. My girlfriend (at the time) and I used to do what I like to call musical archaeology, digging up old songs and discovering new ones. We went to work searching the web and found it. When I listened to it it's like I was hearing it for the 1st time, like I was hearing with new ears. It spoke to me on a more profound level, it struck a cord deep in me. Ever since I've been learning more about Roger and the band. I like what I'm seeing. Roger is a unique artist, he has a special insight that comes through in his music, Something ....Kinda Magical.”
“His music flows straight from his heart and soul into my heart and soul -- no detours, no boundaries. Roger's music is the music of my life.”
