Todd Ford - Broadford (Alex Under remix) by retweakrecords published on 2010/12/07 19:13:49 +0000 'January' opens up a limited edition series for Countdown 2012 with 4 diverse club tracks from the four way phantom that is Todd Ford. Todd Ford’s original is a refreshingly scathing clubbers monologue which waxes lyrical about the routine pretence of the scene. The tune progresses into a subtle but jacking rave like snare and piano riff that would suit the darkest of nights to the most euphoric of sunrises. Howard Sessions' remix with its mellow undulating organs provides a constant laid back spine to the tune, jacking high hats and snares that owe more to the boompty house of Chicago than they do techno. Mata’s Push to Progress remix is an Imaginative and spatial creation, peppered with nods to the rave and crossover house of the late 80’s and early 90’s - plodding staccato bass, sweeping pads, and a euphoric synth breakdown. CYMK’s Alex Under gives us a jazz interpretation of Broadford. He adds a discordant jazzy organ, rolling baseline and a remix that typifies his funky and uplifting sound.
