In the world of DJ’ing, the phrase “up and coming” is thrown around in a rather cavalier manner. ReEduK8 represents one instance where it would in fact be inaccurate to label a performer as such; the inaccuracy exists in the fact that ReEduK8 is not up and coming.
ReEduK8 is here.
Being Baltimore-bred lended a heavy hand in influencing K8 with Baltimore and Jersey Club. Serendipity and synchronicity lended even heavier hands in giving K8 the opportunity to make the acquaintance of numerous promoters and performers in the area that recongized her raw talent and saw fit to apprentice her for a number of years prior to her first booking, and continue to do so to this day. These relationships gave her the ability to share her passion for spreading knowledge, love, and consciousness through music, a passion that is special and arguably becoming more rare in our world today.
K8 directly affiliates with 3D Productions, B.A.D.Ass., Subsdance, Broken Beatz Underground, and Audio Havok, delivering solid sets that exhibit her unique instinct for excellent track selection. While she enjoys experiencing various different genres, her released mixes and live performances have been predominantly made up of drum and bass and breaks.
In a relatively short amount of time, ReEduK8’s bookings include notable events and venues including 4 Quarters Farm for Big Dub and Flower of Life, the legendary Paradox Baltimore, The Bambou, The 8x10, and the sorely missed gem The Get Down, having already shared the stage with Delta Heavy, Keith Mackenzie, Wes Smith, Baby Anne, Proxxy & Lantern, LJ MTX, Agent 137, DJ Nysus, DJ Amp, DJ 2Rip, The WetSteppers, Malphunktion, Jay Shok, Crimson Raiders, Lady Shah, DJ Obscure, B.Rice, Arcada, Bella Bounce, Bill & Ed, BeGood, and many more, including one of her more ardent mentors, the infamous junglist Kyng of Thievez.
ReEduK8 looks forward to the future with the hope of living up to her namesake, acting as a beacon of light for others seeking the same enlightenment and truth she wishes to express through her artistry. We can all only stand by and witness what is shaping up to be a substantial and meaningful expedition into our hearts, our minds, and our speakers. Up and coming? No. ReEduK8 is here.
