Randy Randle's music roots began in Port Rowan Ontario. He never knew his aboriginal (first nations) father, he was raised by his white mother. Her side of the family was very musical. As a kid, his late uncle "Jack Kingston" was a famous recording star that is inducted into the country music hall of fame. Uncle Jack helped Randy get his first guitar and was a big inspiration. From the moment Randy learned his first chords,he began writing his own songs. He started performing at high school parties to impress the girls...it worked. His first paid professional gig happenened at 17 yrs old in Simcoe Ontario. It was with Junior Danko, brother of Rick Danko (The Band). Randy was underage...so he had to stand outside on the breaks. Another early inspiration for him was the opportunity to hang out and get tips from legendary songwriter "Willie P Bennett". At 18 yrs old he decided to make music his career and moved to British Columbia to follow his dream. He spent over a decade touring western Canada with a multitude of popular show bands. His longest tour was with CLOCKWORK from Crowsnest Pass,Alberta. He developed wicked guitar chops and extensive stage experience during this era, and loyal fans nicknamed him "Rev".
His first album was released in 1994 "Blu Rox"(cassette). It contained a mix of original guitar rock and blues. It recieved rave
reviews and got him as far as the western finals in the Molson Canadian Rocks Talent Search. Vancouver Sun rock critic "Tom Harrison", commented in print that Randys guitar playing was reminicent of Jeff Beck.
In 1998 Randy moved north to the NWT. A rocker in fiddle country. He returned to his early country roots and released a self titled CD. He charted 2 big hits on northern FM. "Four Wheel Drive", and "My one and only".. It was very inspiring to hear himself on the radio everyday. He began recieving SOCAN royalties. He became a busy session player at Haywired Productions, and appeared on CD's by a dozen other northern artists.
He was very active in northern arts being president and founder of the Hay River Music Arts and Culture Society, and sitting on the board of directors for Music NWT. He founded and coordinated a 3 day annual festival known as HayDays, and also coordinated a festival in Enterprise known as "Gateway Jamboree". The festival circuit in the north is very unique...and Randy enjoyed them all.
In 2007 while living in Hay River...he returned his rock roots and recorded a CD's worth of Demo's for local band "Rock Gypsy". Unfortunately they didnt officially release the CD because Randy grew homesick for beautiful British Columbia. But the north gave him something special ...it helped find his heritage. He didnt know much of his fathers Algonguin origin, but the Dene people shared thier culture and language like true brothers . Taught him many things. Mahsi cho
