Mostly unknown to the Western world, the root bark of the shrub Tabernanthe Iboga has been long considered a sacred medicine in Western Equatorial Africa. It serves as a medicine, vehicle of initiation, as a catalyst for spiritual progress and enables communication with spiritual dimensions and ancestral realms.
The pharmacological induced Near-Death-Experience causes a kind of reboot of the brain and thus supports the dissolution of old thought-patterns. Because of its unique neuropharmacological properties, Iboga is known for detoxing severe drug addiction rather quick and easy. It also gains a reputation as a powerful prototype-tool for consciousness hacking in psychotherapy as well as microdosing-lifenhancer.
This talk provides an overview of the history of Iboga in Africa and the West as well as the current state of knowledge.
Tobias Erny, coming from a chemical/pharmaceutical background and profession as a scientific glassblower in Basel, has worked with and loved the Tabernanthe Iboga shrub since 2006.
