There was no immediate claim of responsibility. But President Goodluck Jonathan is blaming Boko Haram. Visiting the scene, Jonathan accused the radical Islamists of trying to "move our country backwards." Boko Haram's leader, Abubakar Shekau, who has been declared a global terrorist by the US, vowed in a recent video to widen the group's violence outside its northeastern stronghold.
