Snopes by Radio Room Recording Co. published on 2013/04/13 01:54:12 +0000 NOT named for the useful and appreciated "Urban Myth-busting" web site. The name was supposed to be "Scopes," after the famed "Monkey Trial" of the 1920s, but I made a typo when saving the file, decided I liked it, and left it at that. The original audio file that I processed and edited to create this file was sourced by creating a "skip disc" - a CD that was marked or mangled intentionally to make it skip in the player - out of a promotional label sampler. The skipping audio came from a track by the Toronto band "Monkey Trial," some of whose members I worked with once upon a time. After importing the skip track into Wavelab and editing it for time and interest, sections of the skipping audio were looped, other sections were left to play straight through, and the whole file was run through a virtual effects rack of delays, reverbs, and other processors to create what you hear.
