Pushpin London Pushpin, Kingston-based indie band, present their fourth release of the year: Sea Song. Bringing together a medley of theatrical soundscapes, icy synths and crunching, frenetic guitar riffs, the single presents the band at their energy rich, genre blending best. Formed at university, and having launched officially last October, the band brings together influences from Grizzly Bear, Sonic Youth and Sigur Ros to produce a weird brand of unique indie psychedelia. The single marks an attempt from the band to recreate the looping and sound experimentation that features so heavily in their rehearsals, whilst still producing short, catchy, and genre-hopping tracks. Produced in house, it’s released on their label Cobblerbob Ltd. Pushpin have been gigging around London for the last 7 months, playing at historic venues such as 93 Feet East and The Islington. They have opened for acts such as Piqued Jacks, and are often found on the alternative billings of shows across London. They have further enjoyed airplay on BBC Introducing London, and have featured on podcasts, such as Nitpix's Bleeding On The Page. When not gigging or recording they do soundtrack work, such as for the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe production e x i l e. The rest of their music is available on all popular streaming services through State 51 Music Group.
