Michele Panf Mantovani
Push Against New Fakes is the name of the electronic project of Michele Panf Mantovani, which began in 2012. During the same year, Michele released the first album of the same name, which includes 6 unreleased tracks and a remix of a Aucan’s track “New Day Rising”.
“Numb” was included in a compilation released by the Genoese label Big Ramona, whereas “Last Days” was selected for a compilation dedicated to solitude, released by the Australian label “The Freeform Collective”.
In 2014, the second album “Any Color You Can’t See” was released by Phonocake, a German netlabel that has specialised in electronic music and has been working in this field since 2003. By exploiting the possibilities of Creative Commons licences and cross-platforming, namely sharing the same work with different labels, during the same year the track “Dislike” was released by the Japanese label Particle Control.
In 2015 Push Against New Fakes worked with the American singer-songwriter Meghan Griffith to rearrange the song “The Blackest Theme”.
Early in 2016, the remix of “Frozen Star”, by the Italian band Helalyn Flowers, was released. The remix was included in the deluxe version of the band’s record, released by the Belgian label Alfa Matrix.
In July 2016 Push Against New Fakes released its third studio record, entitled [im]mor[t]ality. The record has been released both by the German label Phonocake and by the Italian label Stato Elettrico.
In October 2017 "Be Kind" was released by Laverna, a sub-label of the Italian netlabel, which is one of the most interesting Italian label focused on electronic and ambient music. "Be Kind" is a 5-tracks EP that includes more than 30 minutes of heart-driven beats and melodies, a short but intense IDM trip.
In 2018 Push Against New Fakes remixed the song "Kunken" by Future Sound Of Conco, included in their Ep Daisy / Kunken, published by Alienated Records.
In the same year the Anglo-American label Touch Loops collaborated with the artist for the creation of a sample pack; "Expansive Electronica" includes more than 200 loops and 100 samples in the style of Push Against New Fakes.
At the beginning of 2019 Push Against New Fakes remixed the song "Airport" by Daniele Bogon, part of the debut album of the Italian producer "17 Encores" released by the Italian label New Model Label.
In May 2020 he published a new track, "This Is", included in a compilation to raise funds for the Covid-19 emergency, whose entire proceeds were donated to ASUR Marche.
On 4th of December a new track, "Clouds", has been released by Traum Schallplatten and included in the compilation "Tour de Traum XX"; Traum is a well-known german label that has worked with Adam Beyer, Max Cooper, Minilogue, Extrawelt and many other super electronic artists.
