Letter To Heaven
Lord, I promised myself that I would never drink again/
But when I think about my friends and how they life end/
Huh, then this is usually how my night ends/
Drinking from the Jack, black out, then I'm back again/
To square one, living with these nightmares/
They could be dreams, until its obvious y'all not there/
Y'all were on my team, they took y'all from me, and thats not fair/
Standing at attention, still wishing, y'all was right here/
And as far as this letter goes, I ain't trying to get all lyrical/
Its more than just lyrics right now this shit has got me spiritual/
I'm talking about a few proud men, who died for what they believe in/
And as far as I see it, that shit right there's a miracle/
They say the good die young, I can't forget that/
Shit I got an old soul, that's probably why I haven't left yet/
All those bodies I shot down, no homie I don't regret that/
Cuz y'all sacrificed y'all life, and to this very day, I respect that/
And I wonder where my heads at?
Living in the past, not ready for what's ahead black/
Dresses and suits for that next casket to lie/
Naw fuck all that, let that next casket be mine/
Yet I still wonder why
Did y’all have to die
Grab the bottle pour a shot
And I sit and I cry
Don’t you ever forget em
Naw, I will never forget em
So Lord, Please, accept my letter to heaven x2
Its been 7 years and ya wife is still single dude/
(Why) cuz she can't even compare you to a single dude/
And I want my girlfriend to meet her too/
Cuz Im more than certain she going learn a fucking thing or two/
And ya son, she telling me how he grown up now/
Just won his first spelling bee, and I know you proud/
You looking down on me, I'm looking up to you/
It aint hard to tell that I've always put my trust in you/
But more than that, you put your trust in me/
Told me to follow my dreams even with the faith of a mustard seed/
So with that said homie I must succeed/
If someones gonna say your story than it must be me/
My homie died a blaze of glory with his finger squeezed/
Left off every round till he deceased, all my enemies/
Naw, I could never forget em/
Cuz the day you went to Heaven was the day that you defended me/
Yet I still wonder why
Did y’all have to die
Grab the bottle pour a shot
And I sit and I cry
Don’t you ever forget em
Naw, I will never forget em
So Lord, Please, accept my letter to heaven x2
