Variations On A Note [disquiet0260] by project dirigent published on 2016-12-23T23:06:54Z Variations On a Note [disquiet0260] Disquiet Junto Project 0260: Tone Fade An exercise in when a sound ends. On my piano I played a C natural 2 octaves below middle C while muting the strings with my thumb. I moved my thumb slightly between each note which brought out different harmonics. Took this track and layered it 4 times shifting the pitch up a 5th, octave and third creating a major chord. Amplitude modulated each of the 4 tracks with a slow sine wave (10 second cycle, 75% depth) and at 4 different phases (0, 90, 120 and 180) creating a slow cross fading between the 4 tracks. Added a bit of pitch stretched root note and some additional reversed piano sounds (opposite of fade out) for atmosphere. Recorded with a Zoom H5. Edited with Audacity.
