Pro Arte Bohemica Pro Arte Bohemica Prague Michaela Ambrosi and Petra Žďárská met many years ago when they began studies in early music. Their training and careers took them far and wide, and they are now reunited and able to capitalize on joint projects. It combines not only a passion for discovering music that has been omitted by history but also the possibilities their instruments offer. The combination of harpsichord and flute has a very long and varied tradition starting with renaissance music for the virginal, flute and voice, through to baroque pieces for flute and basso continuo up to the gallant style in pieces for obbligato harpsichord with flute accompaniment. Petra and Michaela decided to dig deeper into the essence of music which they bring to the audience, and are both undertaking doctoral studies devoted to one unjustly neglected Czech composer. Michaela focuses her research on the music by Jiří Čart (George Czarth) and Petra devoted her research to the study of music written by Josef Antonín Štěpán (Joseph Anton Steffan). However they do not avoid contemporary literature composed specifically for their instrument combination. Pro Arte Bohemica would like to build on the link once famous ensemble Pro Arte Antiqua which pioneered historically informed interpretation in the Czech Republic. www.proartebohemica.eu Pro Arte Bohemica’s tracks Sonata B minor for Flute and Basso Continuo, op.1/5, Allegro by Pro Arte Bohemica published on 2016-08-03T10:26:32Z Pro Arte Bohemica - Václav Vodička - Gigue by Pro Arte Bohemica published on 2016-06-10T18:26:35Z W.
