Pretty Average Berlin Pretty Average was born from familiar sentiments of isolation and discontent that all of us have at times suffered. The band consists of four members, with each member coming from a different background and connected as a whole by the mission of formulating new approaches to the song writing process. The noisy and washed-out rhythm guitar and the sweet, chime-like melodies of the lead guitar layered over the tight and inventive grooves of the rhythm section form the basis of Pretty Average’s sound. On top of this, the soundscape is completed by singer Candy’s voice which sings both evocative and provocative melodies designed to disturb the ears. The band’s music writing often takes influences from 80s and 90s powerhouses, such as Spacemen 3, New order, the Stone Roses, and many more. Musical elements of different eras are drawn on for inspiration, being redesigned and put together to create new and unique hybrid sounds. Since the band’s conception, Pretty Average has played several concerts in the city of Berlin whilst simultaneously recording demos designed to draw a line between both the live performance and an anticipated studio album.
