Pranks Micheal Gearoid Dublin Pranks are a two piece grunge rock band based in Dublin. Friends since primary school, Micheal Sheil (Guitar and vocals) and Gearoid Connaughton (Drums) have a wealth of musical experience. For the last ten years, the two have been honing their seperate skills. Micheal, producer and guitar wizard with Roscommon based ‘We Town Criers’, and Geariod as drummer with ‘Daisy Chopper’, who has performed alongside rock heavyweights like Queens of the Stone Age, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. In 2014, their love of big, fuzzy, noisy riffs brought them together to create Pranks...a minimalist supergroup. The two are finding the process of creating music together liberating. “As a two-piece, creating a sound as big as this is fascinating. We love to experiment with analogue and digital technology, to see how far it can take us. ..” Pranks debut EP ‘New Friend’ will be released in early 2015.
