Defying the conventional monolithic classifications of art and music, Diana Policarpo’s transdisciplinary works overlap the formal boundaries between different strategies and media such as performance, installation, drawing, sound manipulation and improvisation. In Hydra, the inexact overlapping of sound textures create an hypnotic chant that gravitates around an ambient universe. Crossing over jazz fusion, noise and psychedelism, Hydra is somewhere between the organicity of the manipulated machinal sounds and the semi-mythologic volatility of the drone in an attempt to make tangible a projected celestial longitude.
