Standing Like Statues - Skylines - out now! (wav and mp3)

Cambridge alt-rockers Standing Like Statues recently released their sophomore EP, Reality Checkpoint, which has seen support from Spotify’s ‘New Punk Tracks’ and ‘The Scene’ playlists, from Kerrang! Radio’s Johnny Doom and BBC Music Introducing in Cambridgeshire. It’s been covered by a multitude of press and radio.

Formed in 2015, the band have supported We Are The Ocean, Decade, Fort Hope and Courage My Love, as well as being featured on BBC Look East and having the ongoing support of BBC Introducing Cambridgeshire.

Inspired by the likes of Taking Back Sunday, 30 Seconds To Mars and Biffy Clyro, Standing Like Statues draw from the greats of alternative rock to combine anthemic energy and creativity with soul-searching lyrics.

They worked with award-winning producer Romesh Dodangoda on these new tracks, which was a great opportunity to take things up a notch with the production.

Vocalist Jamie Wiltshire describes ‘Skylines’ as "a story about feeling claustrophobic. To fear losing people for finally being true to who you are. The pain of constantly apologising to someone you love for things that you can’t control and the underlying anxiety that can eat away, making you question and over-rationalise things. It’s a cry for help, with an answer. We want to be there for the people who connect with this track, like this song helped us be there for each other.”The next step for Standing Like Statues is to stick it out through the current climate. The music will keep coming and touring plans for 2021 are in the works. The Statues Army is strong and we will be here for the long run.
