Choral Arrangements/Conducting by: Sari Breznau Art Direction/staging/costuming by: Nko The project originally began with just three singers Sara, Kirk Anderson and John Osebold for a project at the Richard Hugo House curated by Jennifer Borges Foster. It was then expanded for On the Boards NW New Works festival with 14 singers. The even more expanded group of 38 singers for this project at the Frye were sourced through an open call. They are garnered from Sara’s connections to Whitman College, On the Boards, 4Culture, City Arts Fest; As well as participants in conductor/performer Sari Breznau’s community through: Orkestar Zirkonium, Old Lady Choir, Circus Contraption, an all ages Family Choir, Esoterics; as well as the Frye’s community volunteers and docents. The People’s Grand Opera is a growing and adaptive project. In the future they hope to continue to intersect with new venues, communities and cities - growing the songs and number of singers to reflect the populations they work within.
