Pax Musica Publishing Marc Harris Yolo County, CA Marc Harris is a composer, conductor and performer. He has been composing tunes for jazz combo sets since June 2009. Beginning in June 2012, he began to compose pieces for larger bands and orchestras as well as for a string quartet. His first piece from the summer of 2012 was his Quartet for Strings in C Major, originally a duet for two tenor saxophones. This was followed by a jazz piece, A Lizard's Blues, made for a big band to sound like a classic tune from the swing era. Forevermore was Harris' next piece and his first full piece for orchestra as well as his first compositions to include a choral feature. The final piece written during the summer of 2012 was Royal Fanfare (The Mount Hebron), orchestrated for a large brass ensemble. It incorporates a fanfare, a march, and a chorale. Marc Harris is the recipient of the 2013 ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award for A Lizard's Blues and a Finalist in the 2013 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Awards for Forevermore.
