Sonata 14 . Neoclassical Sonata by PaulWhite743 published on 2013/07/26 20:24:40 +0000 This piece was composed in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2003. As its name suggests, it is influenced by the Neoclassical style, particularly Stravinsky's Symphony in C. This can be seen in the use of mildly dissonant harmonies and frequent cross-rhythms. The sonata also follows the Neoclassical movement in spirit, being decidedly unromantic. In this respect it differs from my more recent pieces. A video of the performance can be seen via the link above. Special thanks to recording engineer Ren Hunter.
