Paul E Nelson (poet)

Paul Nelson is a poet, interviewer, essayist. He founded Cascadia Poetics LAB & the Cascadia Poetry Festival & his published books include: American Sentences (poems, 2021, 2015), A Time Before Slaughter (poetry, shortlisted for a 2010 Genius Award by The Stranger) and ATBS/Pig War & Other Songs of Cascadia (2020), American Prophets (Interviews 1994-2012).

He’s interviewed Allen Ginsberg, Brenda Hillman, Diane diPrima, Michael McClure, Sam Hamill, Anne Waldman, José Kozer, Robin Blaser, Nate Mackey and many other poets, is father to Rebecca Rose and Ella Roque and lives in Seattle's Rainier Beach neighborhood in the Cedar River watershed of the Cascadia bioregion.
