Patrice writes, "It’s an understatement to say that 2020 was a most unusual year. A year that started off with celebration, great dreams and aspirations, quickly turned to the darkest year of our lifetimes. By March, the news reported thousands of Americans dying daily. The feelings of despair, darkness, gloom, and grief were pervasive. By April, the entire country was in lockdown. It was in the midst of the global pandemic that I decided to record my new album THERE’S A LIGHT at home in my living room. Recording remotely, we collaborated with some amazing musicians from all over the United States and beyond, and even a 60-piece orchestra and 32-voice choir. We decided that it would be an inspirational album, one that we hoped would bring light, hope, and faith, in a time of darkness and gloom. After hearing the first single from the album - “Peace” - songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman sent me some of her other songs to listen to, and I immediately knew I had to record “There’s a Light.” As we pondered selecting a title song for the album, we felt strongly that “There’s a Light” was the perfect title. Beth Nielsen Chapman’s opening lyrics are, “There’s a light, there’s a light, in the darkness,” and I couldn’t help but feel that her hope-filled words were the perfect encouragement for the unprecedented time we have been going through. It is my prayer that the 12 tracks on THERE’S A LIGHT will bring some joy, hope, and peace into your lives. I hope this music will bless you."
