Via is Pat McClellan and Frank 'G'. We are not musicians, singers or performers. We do not want to be the next American Idol. We are songwriters. The irony is not lost on us that God gave us the desire to write music but not the skills to play it so we could get it out of our heads and into your ears. I suspect this may be how Helen Keller felt. Anyway, as we found no other way to accomplish this, we set out to record these 60 or so songs we've written ourselves. Our first try was in the late 1980's. And for two guys with little or no musical or singing talent, we produced songs of various quality, everything from extremely embarrassing to only moderately embarrassing. Nonetheless, we were able to unleash these songs onto the magnetic medium we used to call the cassette tape. Full of hisses and buzzes, muffled instruments and toneless singing, we created about 4 hours of music that was, if nothing else, our own! And we were proud of that. Unfortunately, and fortunately, we had the self control and the self awareness to not share this with the world. As our songs were like ugly babies, difficult to show off, though we loved them dearly.
Flash-forward 25 years to 2012, we find ourselves older and wiser, yet our self control is waning. Maybe it's the "I don't give a crap" attitude we develop as we get closer to wearing bad hats and playing bingo. Or maybe technology has cut us some slack to boost our confidence. And by “us”, I mean all the people that have music trapped in their brains and no dexterity or talent to release it. For us, we've discovered the digital audio workstation, thanks mostly to a little software product known as Cakewalk Music Creator. This $49 software wonder and about $200 worth of hardware turns our computer into a music word processor. And with a little practice and a lot of patience, Via can now produce songs that far exceeds our expectations. Of course, it still falls way short of the current standard of music production. But for us, we’re finally able to share some of our songs with you. Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber, we’re not. Nor are we Barry Manilow or Tom Jones. We’re Via, two songwriters just wanting to be heard. And to those that are listening, thank you.

This song just builds and builds and gets better and better. So good!
I was so happy you came in with the flute.....very very nice!
@marycigarettes: Thanks very much.....those words mean so much coming from such a talented person!
Very soothing....very nice!
@canemajor: Thank you!
The genius here is the willingness and ability to depart from your more typical musical style that was already great!
Nice touch to play this with the set.....and great job bringing these recordings into 2013 so nicely.
Nice job on the solo!
@gary-carota: The guitar and bass were humbly provided by Greg Pasquariello back in the early 80's. The drums are provided by a cheap drum machine I think we pulled out of the garbage. We miked it with a Realistic mic from Radio Shack to a Tascam 4 track.
Want to say this part begins the 'hook' of the song, but really the entire song is the hook. So well done!
