Stereo FM Sequence: ZO vs. VCDO by parasitk published on 2010/07/02 15:12:18 +0000 Left channel: Cynthia Zeroscillator (sine out) through Modcan Dual Multimode Filter. Right channel: Modcan VCDO through the second channel of the Dual Multimode. Patch: Volta (three outs: pitch cv, trigger, and random walk LFO) is being sequenced via a Monome 64 running Obo in Ableton Live. Blacet Binary Zone is sequencing the VCDO pitch. VCDO is FMing the ZO (linear) with its 90° output. Volta is sequencing the ZO's pitch. Volta LFO to VCDO FM Index. Volta trigger out to Binary Zone clock and Metalbox Dual AD. Dual AD channel one is controlling the both filter cutoffs on the Dual Multimode Filter. The filter is really just shaving some harmonics off of the oscillators. Midway through the patch (see timeline) I remove Volta's pitch CV from the ZO, and replace it with the Binary Zone, so both oscillators are receiving the same pitch CV. I dig the metallic overtones that pop out here. I recommend listening on speakers with decent bass output!
