The old Nightmares are the best by pantsofdeath published on 2012/10/11 22:16:43 +0000 Now then Now then, how's about this: another quick one - not as quick as some, I have been blessed by the iOS Music Gods with a few slow bus journeys this week. Also an hour or two in the evenings. Originally I was going to go with a Jimmi Savile image for the track but I am guessing that would mean nothing to anyone not over 35 and from England..and anyway, that would have been just too disturbing. As a project this is a failure - I intended to do something really bleak, scary and depressing but it came out more sort of dark-and-groovy, but there are rules you know and so I had to go with it. It would seem that as I am successfully fighting off the depression that has dogged me for some time my musical output has become a lot more cheerful too. Perversely I feel cheated because I like bleak depressing music, but on the plus side being less depressed makes me more productive... Anyway - another massive mix of synths in here. Yesterday I sent out an email on how I put my drum beats together (still enormously flattered anyone would ask me for my advice!), which will probably be a blog post before the week is out. Just to be contrary this piece probably uses none of the methods I outlined. It's not my fault, I am still waiting for the Stochastik patch and couldn't face wresting with DrumTrackHD again. Mostly samples in Nanostudio TRG (which I almost never use anymore) with Molten (which I love but have never used in a track before either) and a smattering of DrumJam for colour.
