Native Angelino and the daughter of comedian and entertainer Sinbad, Paige Bryan was born a natural performer. She began her career as a member of the Christian pop/rock group, Press Play in 2008. Drawn to music from an early age, the talented singer/songwriter says, “Music was always a prominent influence in my childhood.” In the mid 90’s, Bryan recalls growing up and watching iconic acts perform during her father’s 1970’s Soul Music Festival, which undoubtedly played an important role in shaping her desire, passion and pursuit to do something she loves. As a result, Bryan received composer and vocal credit on Press Play’s title track and album Life is Beautiful, which hit both the Billboard 200 (No. 45), the magazine’s Top Christian Albums chart (No. 2), and Top Independent Albums charts (No. 6) in 2009.
After touring with Press Play for a year, Bryan left the group to pursue a solo career. Her first project released in 2010, titled Imperfect Me, was co-written by Bryan and producer/songwriter Chaka “The Chakfather” Blackmon. The album is a contemporary mélange of R&B/soul/funk and showcases Bryan's talents. Her song “Here I Am” received award-winning recognition in the 2011 U.S.A. Songwriting Competition. In 2012, she released Pieces of Me, which she co-wrote with producer Swoop Brown.
Throughout her career, Bryan has opened for and/or shared the stage with great artists such as Erykah Badu, Sean Kingston, Macy Gray, Jennifer Hudson, Eric Benet, Brian Culbertson, Eric Darius and Ray Parker Jr., among others. Her television appearances include The Mo’Nique Show and her family's reality show Sinbad: It’s Just Family. Bryan has performed at numerous venues and festivals such as Jamie Foxx’s Foxxhole, Tom Joyner's Fantastic Voyage Cruise, Soul Beach Music Festival, The Napa Valley Jazz Getaway, Avalon Hollywood, Nokia Live, Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal City Walk, and Canyon Club. In 2013, Bryan filled in as lead female vocal for the GMA Dove Award-nominated group, Group 1 Crew, with performances throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Bryan’s 2014 performances include five SXSW (unofficial) showcases at venues such as the Blind Pig, Karma Lounge, Haven Lounge, FOX 7 Morning Show and Club NYNY. Other performances include The Federal, The Basement Nashville, Soulshine Pizza, House of Blues Foundation Room, Nashville Oktoberfest and Hard Rock Rocksino, as the opening act. Bryan also performed for our troops at military bases throughout the Middle East and Japan. Her second invitation to perform for our troops since 2010.
With three albums under her belt and numerous accolades, Bryan continues to grow and evolve musically. Her latest project A Mile in Stilettos, is a new venture co-written with long time friend Manwell Reyes. The album has a fresh urban/pop style, something Bryan has always loved and wanted to do. Her first single, London Bridges, released in April 2014. Look for A Mile in Stilettos in 2015.
