Habana Hip Hop Vol. II Produced by Pablo Herrera by pablo_herrera published on 2012-01-21T22:41:58Z These is are all the tracks (minus 1: Montero Vega 'Ponle Asunto') that were recorded in June 2002 in Havana for the Habana Hip Hop Vol. II. Habana Hip Hop Vol. II was the very anticipated saga to the Cuban Hip Hop All Stars Vol. 1 compilation which I recorded Aug. 1999 and released Nov. 2001 in NYC weeks after 9/11 happened. Two trivial facts: 1. The reason why this compilation never saw the light was due my own misjudgement. I signed a bad management deal with the person who funded the very low budget recording and some of the equipment to record the album. They shopped it around to major labels. Dro East West's Latinhop! (2003) album features Insurrecto's E' que cosa E'. A year or so ago I was able to get a full copy of the original premix copy I submitted with the masters. Montero's song is missing. I am very sure there are tasters or even full copies of the compilation circulating on the net without exclusivity. Some of the songs I included here may not be in out there like they are here. 2. Another lucky or should I say karmic factor surrounding my work is that 100 (4 boxes of 25 cds each) of the final printed versions of the Cuban Hip Hop All Stars Vol. I(a horrible mix allegedly done at the famous D&D Studios, NYC), burned in someone's drawer during the WTC disaster. Some way to go, ha! The entire Habana Hip Hop Vol. II album was recorded on a mac book pro, with logic 6, a groove tube mic, an avalon 737, a motu 828, and produced on an mpc 2000. Our vocal booth was the inside of a large, in-wall closet padded with sleeping bags. I think each rapper got $15 for laying their vocals. Please enjoy!!
