Orange O'clock Orange O'clock Sherbrooke Orange O'clock is a Canadian band based in Sherbrooke, Quebec formed by Mickael Fortin (vocals, keyboards and songwriter), Raphael Fortin (drums and back vocals) and Anthony Simoneau-Dubuc (guitars). Built on strong groovy brit-rock roots, Orange O'clock’s unique sound, calls to mind a meeting between David Bowie’s eccentric charisma and Arctic Monkeys’ warm sound, what they qualify of “Elegant Rock”. Ranging from edgy keyboard and retro synth riffs to powerful chords and dynamic drum parts, the band blends sounds that feels like travelling from the 80’s to the future and diving into a whole new merged universe. In May 2015, the young band won the Searchlight contest, hosted by CBC music with their single, Can't Fight the Feeling. The judges Jenn Grant, Dan Boeckner, Saukrates and the public crowned Orange O'clock as “The Best New Canadian Artist”, among 3000 acts across Canada. In May 2016, among more than 18 000 songwriters across the world, Orange O’clock ended up in second place with their new song Wax ’n’ Wane at the International Songwriting Competition in Nashville. On May 13th 2014, the band released their first album Crazy Carnival, including their first single and music video, Belly Button. The song was picked by Grant Lawrence from CBC music to be part of the monthly playlist Songs You Need to Hear and was promoted on NPR music, BBC Radio 1 and CBC music. Since 2010, Orange O'clock gave several shows in Canada including a short but noticed performance at the Bell Centre (Montreal, CAN), opening gigs for Marie-May, X-Ambassadors, Galaxie and others.
