Operation Opera Operation Opera Halmstad The professional opera company Operation Opera develop forms and avant-garde productions in the opéra nouveau genre in Halmstad, Sweden since 2010. Operation Opera’s most acclaimed production is the conceptual Anfasia chronicle, played as a series both in Halland and on national tour. Usually the ensemble let others take care of the mainstream opera and the standard repertoire. Operation Opera is a meeting place where professional artists each year work with artistic musical drama and experimental concert events in chamber size. The group push limits and experiment with forms, and its' focus is on contemporary, alternatively forgotten, music and drama. One goal is to liberate both one self as an artist and the audience from the mannerisms and the clichés of the traditional opera to create an open and allowing stage process, which stimulates creativity and experiments. Operation Opera are searching for new scenic and musical combinations which can contribute to developement instead of stagnation in a genre weighed down by cultural heritage.
