oolongtime At first glance “pseudoscience” might appear to be the obvious antagonist of science, its antonym and life-long foe, however, depending on one’s accepted definition of what science is we begin to find discrepancies. Science is a process where gaps of knowledge and understanding exist waiting to be discovered. When proper research is unavailable, unknown, or inaccessible many individuals, groups, and institutions find casual ways of explaining and understanding our physical and natural world that improperly use or skew the experimental design according to personal sensibilities and preferences or simply by human error. The existence of science and pseudoscience proves how desperately humanity is looking for answers. Our wonder and analysis drive us to want to find causal links between one thing and another, however difficult and seemingly unachievable it may be/seem. Pseudoscience, in its strictest definition is any belief that exists that has eluded the rigorous vetting of the scientific method.
