Featuring an all-local cast remixing selected tracks from the band’s 2008 album We Satellites, it’s an EP with a variety of contemporary dance grooves, taking Electrico from the stage into the heart of global dancefloors. Following their remix success with the band’s 2007 hit Love In New Wave, which saw Pete Tong championed it on his BBC Radio One show, label owner Aldrin, along with production partner Akien, kicks off the EP with a rework the album’s title track We Satellites, turning it into a massive feel-good indie dance/progressive house monster. The boys have also stripped it down into a housier groove-driven Darker Dub for those who like it deeper. Then the duo eases things down to a mid tempo excursion, giving The Slaves & The Digits a groovy nu disco-ish treatment. Veteran music producer Case Woo, who’s career dates back to ’91, with releases on San Francisco’s Transport Recordings and Berlin’s Lifetime Music, along with 3 albums for local multi- faceted artiste Kit Chan, plus remixes for Hong Kong Queen Of Pop Sandy Lam’s Asian tour, steps up with 2 cool reinterpretation of Liberation – The electronica-driven 2403 Remix, and TGI DNB Remix for Drum & Bass fans. Last but certainly not the least, Japanese-born, Singapore-based DJ Shigeki, takes a lighter approach to Liberation, and delivers a lovely laid-back String Orchestra Remix. Since moving to Singapore in ’08, Shigeki has already graced the decks of Velvet Underground, Ku De Ta, Home Club, Tanjong Beach Club, The White Rabbit, Taboo, Play, P.S Café, Privé and more.
