Welcome to the debut release of OneWithMusic – the brand new digital label from Singapore’s DJ/Producer - Aldrin. For the last decade, Aldrin has been instrumental in building up Singapore’s dance scene, with his residency at the infamous Zouk Club, where he was also the club’s DJ Booking Manager for the last 5 years. He has also been traveling around the world with guest spots in top clubs like London’s Turnmills and The Cross; Digital in Newcastle; Pacha, Space and DC10 in Ibiza; Cocoon in Frankfurt; Womb in Tokyo, and Cielo in New York; just to name a few.
Prior to the label, Aldrin had already released various tracks and remixes on labels like Renaissance, Distraekt, Bamboo Music, Cosmonote Blue and Asian Dynasty; all of which have seen support from world leading jocks John Digweed, Carl Cox, Hernan Cattaneo, Pete Tong and many more.
2008 sees Aldrin add a new dimension to his profile with his very own digital imprint - OneWithMusic – an outlet to continue showcasing his production output, plus an aim to promote up and coming artists from Asia and beyond.
This debut release kicks off with Aldrin teaming up with long time studio partner Akien, with an EP entitled “Which One?”.
This One - a straight up 4/4 prog groove with strong stabs, delicate percussions and swirling fxs. Definitely one for the big rooms!
That One - a rework on “This One”, switching the lead stab into a driving bassline, with techno, neo-trance and tech house influences thrown in, and a massive breakdown that brings the track back into a crescendo. Another one for the big rooms!
Remixes come from Belgium’s leading exponent of dance – Marco Bailey – who strips “This One” down into a dubby, techy affair, using electro stabs and rolling snares to full effect.
And wrapping up the release is Singapore’s very own purveyor of minimal techno – Xhin, who already has releases and remixes on Meerestief, Budenzauber, Wassermusik, Gastspiel, including Loco Dice’s Timewarp 2007 Mix CD. Xhin’s interpretation is a total transformation of “That One”, turning the track into a funky, jacking, contemporary workout that’s bound to please techno connoisseurs.
