Welcome to my new song, or better to say a story that I want to share with you all.
As most of you know by now, I was very busy lately with my contribution into the charity album “Love & Hope Forever”. Due to my current health condition I can work for a couple hours a day taking breaks from time to time. During those breaks, I took my attention away from the album, and started jamming around with no any intention to create something new. Luckely I always record everything I do, and I noticed that there were two pieces / ideas that kept coming back: “Everything Happened for a Reason” which I will finish and release later on as well, and this one “For what it’s Worth”. When I listen to these two pieces they don’t look like songs to me but complete stories that run through my head over and over again.
They pop up due to some experiences during my rehabilitation period, and I noticed how hard it is to express all those thoughts to others, because you can’t find the right words, or people just don’t understand what you are saying at all, it’s almost like you are running on different tracks.
In that period I felt alone and distressed quite often, and I just laid or set down and played (jammed) and that is also, how these two pieces were created, although they both are completely different style wise.
When I played this song / journey the first time to my wife, she immediately said to me: “This piece is too personal, this is your story and experience.”, and I was glad she noticed.
However I want to share it with you all anyway, especially towards all those people who wrote me letters with their experiences and stories, plus what my music does to them - the comfort it brought them.
As for “For what it’s Worth”, I promise to respond personally all those who wrote me, but it can take some time, and hopefully this piece may bring you comfort as well as all the other pieces I released for you.

The story behind “For what it’s worth”:
While Matt and I were working on the song “Don’t look back” also for this album, memories of my youth (the time I was in the band “Revival”) came back, We were always experimenting and jamming in the weekends, we had no families yet, so we were free to make music where and whenever we wanted it.
One specific weekend was very precious to us all, we jammed from Friday 15:00 till Saturday 23:45, talking eating and making lot’s of fun, and making awesome music at the same time, we really got to know each other a lot better, and we felt like we could do everything we wanted and we were ONE, we expressed our feelings and thoughts with each other, I think our best music was created in that specific weekend.
Unfortunately only a few of those pieces were really finished, and were played life for an audience.
The peace and harmony we all felt that weekend, we have never experienced it anymore, and we all asked ourselves why, probably our daily life’s had changed us, and it hurts deep inside, because now we can never do it again, as a few of our (former) members are no longer with us, God bless their souls.
I tried to express myself (feelings and thoughts) with this new song, and tell you all to follow your dreams and try too for fill them, if you don’t although you had the change, you’ll always be sorry you didn’t.
So “For what it’s Worth” I am so sorry I didn’t do everything in my power to keep “Revival” together, and find a common goal that we could all live together with, and continue to make this beautiful music.
Also because of the latest developments in the world and what I heard from my friends, people often ask themselves in what kind of world are we living in, people begin to ask what has happened with us all, and where did we all go wrong, how come we don’t seem to care about ourselves and others anymore.
Unfortunately we live in a world where people have no idea what a promise means, and words are just words, whether it’s said by politicians, people on the street, or doctors promising to be there for you when you need them the most, but when you keep them to their word, they are not there, and we seem to have forgotten how much it can hurt others, and eventually it will come back to ourselves too, as a visual circle.
Again, “For what it’s Worth” stop hurting each other, peace and harmony will save you and the world.
Inner peace awakened while I was just relaxing in the water during my rehabilitation in the hospital, and this journey came to mind, and I heard a slide guitar playing around back and forth, although I never used a solo slide guitar to do the melody on my songs, I just wanted to give it a go, and I liked it a lot, as for some reason it could give the exact mood back I had while I was laying in the pool humming this idea/journey, it brought back positive emotions and feelings, and those I wan to share with you all “For what it’s Worth”,
so you can fill in your own story while your listening to this journey I’ve made for everybody to enjoy!
Your comments, critics and advice are very much appreciated as always, cheers John Styles
This song will be remade by Euphoriqa on a later stage including lyrics and us singing on it as well.
