Olivier Velay starts his career in the music business integrating
DISTANCE MUSIC in march 1995 as A&R Manager. This will be the
beginning of a successful career, leading DISTANCE MUSIC through the
years to become one of the most successful and recognised House Music
label in the late 90s and beginning of the 2000s, signing such artists
as Kevin Yost, Paul Johnson, Romanthony, Sandy Rivera or Todd Edwards,
including the hits « Finally » by K.O.T in 2001 and « Diamond Life » by Louie Vega and
Julie Mc Knight in 2003. In 2004, Olivier creates the House Music label STALWART with DJ
STALWART has released an impressive roaster of tracks and remixes from heavyweights like Earth Wind & Fire, Lenny Fontana, Joi Cardwell, Richard Earnshaw, Kentphonik, Rocco, Aaron Ross, DJ Fudge, The Layabouts, DJ Meme, Steal Vybe, etc. The label regularly hits the Traxsource TOP 10, the climax being the 1 spot with the remix package of « Make It Alright » by Lenny Fontana & Joi Cardwell, beating up labels like Defected or Purple Music.
STALWART is now one of the most respected label worldwide in terms of quality soulful House music, emphasising Olivier's unique "savoir-faire" and professionnalism.
Besides his office work, Olivier Velay is also an in-demand DJ. Starting mixing professionally in 1998, he plays funky energetic house sets to dedicated crowds in the biggest parisian clubs (Queen, Batofar, Rex Club, Red Light, Club 287, Wagg, Mezzanine de L Alcazar, etc) but also overseas (London, Vienna, Miami, Estonia, Mexico, Tunisia…) alongside superstar DJs like Kevin Yost, DJ Pippi, Sandy Rivera , Roger Sanchez, DJ Deep, Rulers Of The Deep, DJ Romain, E-Man, etc. After a 9 years weekly residency at club Sanz-Sans in Paris, he moved to Hong Kong in October 2011 to take a DJ residency at the Armani Privé Club, Aqua Spirit and Tivo restaurants, owned by the widely acclaimed Aqua Group.
