Oliver Deuerling, aka Submatic, Choose One and Desaga – music producer, composer, masterer, sound designer, songwriter etc. – the list of his musical endeavours is actually endless, since he doesn’t just make music, he lives it.
It all started in 1992, when Oliver began creating music on his first computer (ATARI ST 1040) along with the hardware synthesizers (Yamaha DX7, Roland 2080, Juno 60, Korg) and Notator as sequencing software. Back then, he was producing Techno, House and Ambient.
When Logic Audio hit the market, Submatic switched up Oliver’s style. His friend DJ Amaning introduced him to the basics of producing Drum and Bass. The newfound fascination with DnB led to a link-up with the Millennium Beats Foundation (MBF Crew), now known as Beatknowlogists. Together, Deefader, Dan-e, Tobez, S.Finesse, MC Soultrain and Submatic created friendly vibes and threw legendary parties in Munich.
In 2006 Oliver Deuerling was introduced to Darren Jay, which resulted in the first vinyls. The most prominent ones would be Submatic & Deefader – „Lift Your Head“ and „Spanish Sunset“, released on Wide Open Music.
2009 was distinctive for new music styles in Oliver’s production repertoire, as he released couple of Chill Out, Lounge and DaB tracks („Choose One’s Summervibes“) on Good Mood Music label, followed by „Nektar Beach Sampler“ in 2010.
The following years were full of releases, some of which are impossible to conceal:
2011: „Think About“ and „Mental Mojo“ (Soundtrax Recordin), „The Liquid Note“, „Goin Away“, „Follow the Sky“, „In the Morningsun“ and „Losing You“ (Souldeep Recordings).
2013 was the year, when Oliver Deuerling started his mastering services, adding to his clients list such labels as Karmic Records, that belongs to the legendary Lenny Fontana himself, Blue Dye, Treibjagd, Kapibara and many others. One of his biggest reference tracks however is Pele & Shawnecy – „Better for my Brain“, in which he could show the excellent skills on vocal recording, arranging, mixing and mastering.
In 2014 Oliver Deuerling brings into play his funky side of life. Tracks like "The Streets" and "Chainreaction" and Gran Torino, ones of the numerous releases on Springbok, have an original Funkmusic soul.
2016: „Lyrical Warfare“ Ft. MC Agent & Hardplay - Submatic Remix (Liondub-ODT Muzik) and „Rainbow“ feat. Natalia (Offworld Recordings).
While producing all this liquid DnB tracks, Oliver Deuerling is still searching for the answers to the most existential questions and their musical expression in his life, which leads to countless musical impulses and styles such as Funk - Film - Soul - Ethno - Brazil - Latin – Deep House - House - Techhouse - Techno - Ambient - Chillout - Reggae – Electronica. And even here his creative longing doesn’t end.
