> They say appearances are everything, but in the case of North Carolina's tattooing troubadours, Old Heavy Hands, appearance is a livelihood. The unassuming trio comprised of Nate Hall, Larry Wayne and David Self are crafting some of the finest modern, southern music from their home base, Legacy Irons; a tattoo shop in Greensboro, NC owned by Hall and operated by the three. Although this incarnation is new to North Carolina's alt-country music scene, songwriters Hall and Wayne are no strangers to life on the road; as rockers in previous bands as well as traveling tattoo artists. The tunes speak to these experiences; hearkening absence and a strong yearning for home. In keeping with the traditions of their peers, there are songs of love and loss, however the music, paired with Hall and Wayne's unique voices, creates something cut from a different cloth.
