Noijzu Peru, China Noijzu is a Swiss free improvisation band, formed in late 2017 by Luis Sanz and Urs Heer. Noijzu began as a noise duo, using vocal convulsions, guitar, objects and drums. By late 2018 the Chinese clarinetist Shuyue Zhao, resident in Switzerland, becomes part of the group. The new duo conformed by Zhao and Sanz focuses on acoustic sound and electronics. They incorporate the clarinet, bass clarinet, synthesizers, custom software and feedback systems. The result consisted of high-pitched sounds, extreme acoustic dynamics and complex textures, ranging from minimal to extreme and confrontational sound expressions. Noijzu‘s sound has been described as „a fragmented noise symphony“. Noijzu currently plays as a Zhao - Sanz duo, but occasionally includes the original drummer Urs Heer as well as other musicians, functioning as a free experimental ensemble.
