Solid Steel Radio Show 16/10/2015 Hour 2 - Rioux by Ninja Tune

Solid Steel in association with Serato (16th October) Rioux is our guest in Hour 2, based in New York and founder of the Human Pitch label, he released his Evolver EP earlier this year and makes his debut on Solid Steel with an exclusive taste of the upcoming single out later this month. He told us;
"While making this mix I thought about my orbit as a person and as an artist, and plotted out my musical universe. In retrospect I realize it plays like a history of electronic music. On occasion you can hear time unfolding on top of itself: from Delia Derbyshire to Detroit Techno to contemporary productions from around the world, lots of material is mashed up head-on. It was particularly fun collaging ambient music with drum-only tracks; material with ambiguous tempo plus material with ambiguous tonality leads to endless possibilities. After stitching together different time periods I worked in some new dancefloor tracks of my own and my favorite new single from Dadras, on my label Human Pitch. Dive in (you might catch some spoken word from Gertrude Stein, Sun Ra, and Alan Watts)!"
