Solid Steel - the world’s longest running mix series - returns with a special two-hour mix from Ben UFO.

Speaking to us about the mix, Ben said: “This is the set I played at last year's Meakusma Festival. It's been one of my favourite events for the past three years running, and I've programmed a stage at the last two editions. Last summer I was joined by Kara-Lis Coverdale, Jay Glass Dubs and the Timedance crew - Batu, Ploy and Bruce. It's one of the only events I can think of where dance music co-exists with a broad range of experimental music in a way that feels natural, unpretentious and unforced. I love it there, and hopefully that comes across in this recording."

Created in 1988 by Coldcut, and broadcasting on the then pirate radio station Kiss FM, Solid Steel has been releasing mixes for the past 30 years, bringing the weekly shows to an end in December 2018 with a final guest mix from Juan Atkins (the first guest to appear on the show in 1988). Returning for 2019 in a new, more focussed monthly format, continuing Solid Steel’s long history of supporting the best of both established and emerging artists.
