New State Masses London New State Masses write music inspired by Soul, Rock and Strong Traditional Songwriting. With vocals that have been likened to Jeff Buckley and melancholic songs inspired by artists such as Nick Cave and Antony and The Johnsons, New State Masses have a modern approach with euphoric production whilst retaining their love for honest and classic songwriting. New State Masses is formed of two Brighton based songwriters, Peter Harwood, (a founding member of “The Recoil” who were picked up by music mogul Sat Bisla of A&R Worldwide and subsequently signed to Right Bank Music USA) and Matthew Parisi, (Principle Engineer to Mike Stock of Stock, Aitken and Waterman). They formed a songwriting partnership after the disbandment of “The Recoil”, creating a catalogue of songs and writing for various signers. Currently they are writing with up and coming artists as well as releasing their own material which has gained interest from sync companies and publishers. They plan to release their first EP in January 2015 with an acoustic tour to follow.
