Mint Museum [LIVE — 5.1.22] by nelly_kate published on 2022-01-11T15:19:30Z Audio recording from live performance at the Mint Museum, in Charlotte, NC. The performance was a live mix of two cassette recordings, two compositions transcribed with video captions, live vocals, and reel-to-reel tape loops created on stage. We are collectively experiencing disembodiment brought on by a disconnection from the earth and obsolete technologies. Everything we engage with on a screen is an approximation for another machine or flow. So, I turn toward the terrestrial as a means for reconnecting and grounding our bodies in time and space. This recording, is not an adequate representation of the warm and subfrequent tones resonating through the atrium, which has wooden floors and soft reflective angles. The sounds are a combination of ARP 2600 synth tones, radio frequencies, 1/4" tape loops, music boxes, field recordings, and layered vocals. Genre Electronic Comment by nelly_kate @harryarke43: Thanks so much! It was tricky to get the room noises out of the mix. 2022-01-11T18:32:03Z
