NECRONOMICON

NECRONOMICON was formed in Southern Germany in 1983 by front man Freddy, and then members Axel and Lala, all of whom were, at the time, musicians active in the punk scene. However, quickly falling under t the spell of artists like MOTORHEAD and METALLICA, the band changed course, and left behind its punk roots. Aided by Freddy’s distinctive vocals, NECRONOMICON developed a sound all of its own, quickly becoming popular in the underground Thrash Metal scene not only at home in Germany, but also world-wide. With over 25 years of musicianship under its belt, NECRONOMICON has the distinction of being one of Germany’s longest serving Thrash Metal bands, with a wealth of stage and recording experience behind it, and a following that has not only stayed loyal since the start, but that grows all the time as new generations of Thrash Metal fans discover the veterans. NECRONOMICON has released a total of six albums to date, and in October 2010 released a special edition double vinyl of the band’s first album. The band is currently in the studio working on their seventh album, which will be a double CD and will include both live tracks and acoustic songs. A new video is also in the making.
