Nameless City Peter Renner Százhalombatta Nameless City was formed in 2009 as a side–project of Industrial Wave Studio. Its style is dominated by dark ambient, chill out and downtempo, with some occasional industrial elements. In his new project Peter „Peti” Renner collects his works inspired by the writings of H. P. Lovecraft. The name comes from the title of Lovecraft’s short story published in 1921, which is also a city often referred to in other writings, too. Peti has been involved in music since 1993 but , in his words, his first experiments can hardly be called proper music. Many years have passed and by now we can say that this hobby became a passion. His style ranges from synth pop through ambient to industrial. The bands that have influenced him include Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Front 242, Front Line Assembly and Delerium. In 1997 he founded Industrial Wave Studio with two of his friends (Andris Zádor and Attila Méhes). The first positive feedback came in 2000 when one of his remixes was included in Kovács Ákos’ „Keresem az utam” remix album in mp3 format. In 2001 Industrial Wave Studio has split, Andris and Attila have left the project, which was buried for 4 years. This period was spent with musical experiments, when in 2007 Peti found Intredent whom he has sent his works. As a result he was included in Electro Arc Compilation Vol.1 in 2007 and in NetWare Responsibilities’ compilation in 2008 (under Industrial Wave Studio). By 2009 Peti had so many songs inspired by H. P. Lovecraft that a separate project was needed. Nameless City’s first album was released at Limitless Audio on December 1, 2010, the title was inspired by Lovecraft as well: ’At The Mountains Of Madness’. On February 25, 2011 a compilation was released at Electro Arc entitled ’Net Ware Victory Monuments’ that included Nameless City’s ’Stampede’. On May 27 ’Music For The Rising Sun: Part II’ compilation was released with Nameless City’s The Past as its 5th track. This compilation was released to aid the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan with all its proceedings spent on humanitarian aid. On August 13, 2011 Peti performed live at Budapest’s Sziget Festival in the Cökxpon Ambient tent. This was actually his first ever performance. The event was followed by monthly performances at Cökxpon Ambient Café from September to January. In 2012 Peti started to work on Nameless City’s new album. This is a compilation of 2011’s songs, entitled ’And Other Tales…’. This material is free to download from June 1 at the official website .
