Based in Brussels, Belgium, M-zine & Scepticz are no strangers in the Belgian Drum & Bass scene. Having had releases on labels such as Dispatch Recordings, Critical Recordings, 31 Records. And playing big time parties, such as Star Warz, Rampage, Stealth Bombers, Mentality, these guys have been cooking their way up, slowly but steadily, in it for the long haul.
Following up last years releases on Dispatch Recordings (DISLTD026), and the killer collab track with DLR –“Still Alive”- on Warm Communications (WARM043), they’re currently looking at releasing 2 EP’s for Dispatch Recordings, with more EP’s signed to some big labels, 2017 seems to be a great year for these guys. Having released “Prescient” EP with Lifestyle Music earlier this year, and “Diffraction” EP on Dispatch Recordings, the guys saw their music getting more & more support throughout the board. The likes of Noisia, Skeptical, Ulterior Motive, Kasra, Bredren, Ant TC1, DLR, Mako, Mikal, A-Sides, Universal Project, Arkaik, Beta2, Doc Scott, Dom & Roland, John B, Hydro, War, One87 are all loving the latest work of the dynamic duo from Brussels.
M-zine & Scepticz is the alias of Joeri Deyaert (M-zine) & Tom Cools (Scepticz), they got to know eachother through a mutual love of beats & funk, and the syncing of vinyl. Their love for dj’ing evolved into producing tracks together when they first met. Joeri had already had a couple of solo releases on Bashers’ label Proximity Recordings, and Swiss powerhouse Demand Records. Shortly after that they went on to release their first collab ever on Dust Audio, followed by a string of releases on labels such as 31 Records (which got featured on Thom Yorkes weekly playlist), and Rotterdam based Blendits Audio, on which they had both collaboration tracks with Hydro, Distant Future, Phase, Makros, aswell as solo projects.
With more music coming out over the course of 2017 & 2018, it’s onwards & upwards for M-zine & Scepticz.
