My Pet Monster puts a new school spin on a classic era of American music. Blending Electro and Ghetto Swing, Glitch Hop, Ghetto Funk, Blues, and Future Bass, he cross-pollinates both old and new styles to create what can only be described as an upbeat, funky sound which has mass-appeal among audiences everywhere. His solo debut release "New Age Gangster" on MalLabel Music reached #8 on Beatport's Top 100 Glitch Hop Releases with 5 tracks in the Top 100 including 1 track in the Top 10.
My Pet Monster is also a part of the live electronic music trio, Deep City Culture, an artistic experiment which combines 30+ years of experience into an eclectic range of sounds influenced by the group's broad taste in genres such as Bass, Glitch, Breakbeat, Jazz, Hip Hop, and World Music. In 2013, Deep City Culture won the SF:RAW Artist of the Year Award and their freshmen release "Take It Off" on Street Ritual debuted at #1 on Addictech. In 2014, Deep City Culture's sophomore release "Nomadic Chromatic" on MalLabel Music debuted at #33 on the Beatport's Top 100 Glitch Hop Releases with one of their songs being voted into the Top 10 Must Hear Electronica Tracks of the Week.
In addition to his production, My Pet Monster has been rocking dance-floors all around the West Coast & Midwest; opening for a number of well-known artists such as Deltron 3030, DJ Shadow, The Polish Ambassador, Beats Antique, G Jones, Nosaj Thing, Kill Paris, Mimosa, Lazer Sword, Sweater Beats, Brillz, Buku, Luminox, Phutureprimitive, Stylust Beats, Starkey, Sugarpill, Gladkill, Nasty Nasty, Mochipet, Nit Grit, ill.gates, An-Ten-Nae, Minnesota, and many more.
