YOYO - Science Fiction by XYZ Music published on 2020-03-20T22:58:16Z “Science Fiction” is the second single from YOYO’s upcoming debut record. The song follows her previous single, “Can’t Heal If You’re Holding Me”, which kickstarted her return after almost a year of no music. The song itself is very different than “Can’t Heal If You’re Holding Me”, with a very airy light production that continues to mold throughout the song into different forms, following into the very distorted vocal chopped outro. The song has a bit of a cold air to it, and still somewhat holds a feeling of a hug. With the success of 70-80s inspired tracks from both Seraphim and Pixie Sylth topping the charts, it is interesting to see if YOYO will be able to succeed with this very different style. While talking about the track and inspiration for this debut album she stated that this is what she imagined her personal future of the world sounds like. ”I want my music to sound futuristic in my own type of way, and not in a bigheaded way that I think my music is the future, but more that my music fits what my future will sound like, what I imagine it will be at least. I wanted to create a record that felt timeless to me now, and one that will continue to even when I become older, and my music continues to mature.” she stated on the song. She said she doesn’t have any type of influence, but rather tries to recreate what she imagines within her mind. Her debut album is slated for an early summer release, but no dates have been made official yet. The XYZ artists aren’t known for rushing out music for the sake of it, and quality over quantity is a very clear reason for that. Although with only putting one album out last year, XYZ was the third highest selling label, even putting out the year’s highest selling song, VALE’s single “Madman”. It’s been over a year since Suspicious Company, and anticipation continues to heighten. Fans are excited to hear what YOYO has coming next, as multiple promotional pieces have been teased for the album rollout, keeping fans on their toes to see what happens next for the young starlet.
