By the time Donnie was four years old, he had experienced his first brush with an audience. It was at the Worcester Auditorium, 25 miles west of Boston, Massachusetts, where four year old Donnie Demers would experience a musical nirvana. A local charity event was featuring Donnie’s aunt Shirley singing a song for the crowd, when she decided to bring the eager youngster up on stage to sing with her. Singing “I’m A Little Teapot,” it was there that music would become the center of Donnie’s universe from that point on. That following Christmas, at the top of Donnie’s list was a piano! He got the piano, but alas, it was a small toy version. Donnie immediately asked for (and received) permission to use the “real” piano at his elementary school during recess while the other children went outside to play. This continued throughout Donnie’s elementary education. By the time he was in high school, Donnie had taught himself how to play the piano … a tool that would assist his writing abilities to an echelon of extraordinary ability. It was around the age of seven when Donnie first began writing songs, and with great passion. He hasn’t stopped since then. After graduating from High School, Donnie attended the University of Arizona in Tucson. It was there where the music of Donnie Demers would first be professionally recorded and it was also there where Donnie’s life changed forever. “When we began laying down the string tracks for ‘Please Come Back To Me’, I can recall putting my head into both of my hands and quietly sobbing,” Donnie remembers, “I knew at that moment that having Muscular Dystrophy was no longer the ‘thing’ that defined me … during the second chorus of a song I wrote, accompanied by the most beautiful string section I had ever heard.” Since those early years, Donnie has traveled the world over, appearing on nationally televised programs, performing with full orchestras, and playing for a host of well-known personalities. From Elizabeth Taylor to Miles Davis, and audiences from Vienna, Austria to Shanghai, China, the music of Donnie Demers has inspired and touched the lives of literally tens of thousands of listeners. The legendary songwriter, Sammy Cahn once said of Donnie’s music, “It is only a matter of time before everyone knows who Donnie is!” musical_wheels’s tracks Christmas Again (DEMO) by musical_wheels published on 2015-06-19T03:22:44Z LOVE THE FEELING (UNRELEASED COCA-COLA JINGLE DEMO) by musical_wheels published on 2015-09-24T08:12:55Z I'm So Glad You Are Mine by musical_wheels published on 2017-06-13T20:34:26Z Love Gave You A Fairytale by musical_wheels published on 2017-02-18T23:09:31Z We Believed (demo) by musical_wheels published on 2017-11-11T00:51:13Z Christmas Again (Eaton/Demers)DEMO by musical_wheels published on 2017-10-05T17:34:13Z Somewhere Over The Rainbow by musical_wheels published on 2016-03-30T15:36:19Z Forever One by musical_wheels published on 2016-02-12T04:56:19Z
