Chip Jacks - Woods
Setting the theme of the album, Woods starts off with crisp abstract beat structures and a futuristic wobbly bass, retaining a nice floaty melody and atmosphere from start to finish.
Chip Jacks - Crunch Culture
Crunch Culture is a much more mellow offering, with trip hop influences shining through. Followed by an intensely crazy stingy lead, which builds the track and would appeal to those slow techno DJs looking for an abstract groove.
Chip Jacks - Sneaker
Starting with a signature minimal tech beat, luring you in, Sneaker then breaks into a floaty break track, with sharp twinkles and melodic strings appealing to those DJs looking for an early morning sunrise track to drop.
Chip Jacks Ft Ramsinga - Vessels
Vessels features the vocals of Spain's Ramsinga.
Chip Jacks - One Two
One Two starts with a vocal hook which then breaks into a classic synth, and live drum noise.
Chip Jacks - Super Drum
Super Drum has a big beat sound and early nighties chimes, with a drifting acid noise, and then a drop, where the old skool bass line and warm pads bring the track to a close.
Chip Jacks - Roll Out East
Having come up with an entire album of classic sounding tracks, Chip Jacks then gives us an early 80 kids TV intro with another break into the chaotic style drums. Building the remainder of the track into a lovely theme of rolling breaks and complimentary keys, with an acid like repeated synth stab.
Chip Jacks - Granular Alice
One for the dub step crowd, the intro is very haunting, ghostly pads, then breaking into much a much more classic dub step bass and lead, but with a very intelligent pattern and beat structure around it.
Chip Jacks - Reactor
The most downtempo track on the album, Reactor consists of trailing pads, which evolve and mutate, as they are accompanied by break back beats. The break down changes the track so it is more haunting, but warm, with little wraps of sun shining through it.
Chips Jacks - Roll Out East 'Plaid Inashed remix'
So who better to finish the album off none other than a remix from Plaid themselves. This track shows why they are the best at their game, with seriously intelligent sharp fast beats and a rolling distorted bass. The bell lead patter is beautiful and very melodic, and in the background is the signature evolving atmospheric pad.
