Active Playground (disquiet0321) by MtnViewMark-Bits published on 2018-02-26T02:12:01Z I used only instruments I had in my Ableton Live library that matched the brief: xylophone, glockenspiel, toy piano, a baritone brass thing, and tambourine. This is not really my zone of sounds - but I didn't want to alter them much so as to stick to the brief... I didn play a bit with ranges: I've got some low notes that I'm pretty sure aren't on a glockenspiel! I then just mucked around in C on a keyboard and put these parts together, adding very light processing by ear. My kid came in, listened and said "You should call it Playground." Done! -=- More on this 321st weekly Disquiet Junto project (Let’s Active: Make a short piece of music that decreases the mind’s tendency to wander, based on research by Dr. Liila Taruffi, PhD, and her colleagues) at: https://disquiet.com/0321/ More on Taruffi, music, and mind-wandering at: http://liilataruffi.com/ More on the Disquiet Junto at: https://disquiet.com/junto/ Comment by vgmrmojo Really cool ! 2018-02-26T22:56:38Z Comment by Vonna Wolf I like how you mixed your analog style with the childlike playfulness of the limited instrument set. 2018-02-26T22:13:52Z Comment by Vonna Wolf @daniel-diaz: Agreed 2018-02-26T22:11:59Z Comment by MtnViewMark-Bits @daniel-diaz: Ha!
