Mortlock

Australian born, Germany based musician Michael Mortlock has been composing music since he was a teenager in his makeshift bedroom studio. In the early 2010's he released a number of EP's of techno and house music and after a long break focusing on his film and photographic work, Mortlock is finally releasing some new music.

Heavily influenced by the European electronic music scene, he relocated from Sydney to Berlin in 2010 were he continued to experiment with his favourite styles of music while refining his skills in visual arts and videography.

After many years of self-growth, transformation and experimentation, Mortlock's style of composition has changed along with him. He is currently developing several new EP's as well as his debut album of multi-genre inspired electronic music, incorporating his love of piano and film soundtracks with electronic soundscapes.

After a string of new singles, Mortlock is preparing to drop his latest EP titled 'Deep Water', due for release in early 2022. Deep Water symbolises an arc for his emotional development and maturity as a musician and visual artist in his own right. Blending genres and experimenting with new styles, this EP reflects Mortlock's strong connection to nature and how we absorb a reflect it as a means of healing. The first single, 'Summer Storm' was released on Mortlock's new independent label andflows records in 2021, followed by the oceanic love-letter 'Ericeira', named after a coastal town in Portugal where he lived for some time. The latest release, titled Everydaze - represents the everyday montage we create for ourselves and how we absorb and digest our surroundings through music.

The last singles on the EP are Hold My Hand and Deep Water – a collaboration between Mortlock and Tasmanian based singer / songwriter PARKER, who are planning to release a series of new singles in the first half of 2022.
